Indian National Cricket team vice-captain Rohit Sharma played out of skins but failed to take his side over the ropes in the fifth and the final ODI against Australia at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi on March 13 (Wednesday). Despite his fighting knock during the chase, Sharma received heavy trolls thanks to his comical mode of dismissal.
India lose the series 3-2
Meanwhile, Australia continued their winning run to win their first series under Aaron Finch coming from 2-0 down. They played some brilliant cricket led by Usman Khawaja in the batting front while the bowlers did well collectively. Batting first, the visiting team posted 272 runs on the board banking on a solid opening stand. India. however, pulled things back but that didn’t stop Khawaja scoring his second century of the series. Peter Handscomb – last match’s centurion also scored a useful half-century. Some significant contributions by Jhye Richardson and Pat Cummins at the end helped them go past the 250-run mark.

Indian National Cricket team, during the chase, never looked comfortable. Besides, wickets at regular intervals also hurt their chance of winning the trophy. The batsmen threw their wicket after getting set and the wicket of Rohit Sharma – their last stakeholder, was the final nail in the coffin. Although Kedar Jadhav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar put in a superb effort but it was not enough to take them over the rope. Meanwhile, the dismissal of Rohit triggered a heavy troll on social media site Twitter.
The Mumbai batsman was getting frustrated with the dot balls and the missed scoring opportunities. As a result, he came down the track of Adam Zampa, who made him his 10th bunny of the series. Zampa is not one who gives the ball air and the zip on the delivery beats the inside edge and Alex Carey does the rest behind the sticks. What was worse was Rohit’s bat slipped out of his hand and ended up near short fine as he completed the swing.

The funny mode of dismissal gave social media users enough content to make fun out of it. They made several memes to troll Rohit Sharma following the fifth ODI.
