With the ICC World Cup beginning soon after the Indian Premier League (IPL), there has been a wide-ranging debate going around considering the workload of the Indian National Cricket team players. The pundits have expressed their views on the same, and it is only to see how things shape up once IPL commences. Speaking on the same, veteran spinner, Piyush Chawla noted that his Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) teammate Kuldeep Yadav knows to manage his workload keeping the World Cup in mind.

The upcoming edition of the IPL will begin on March 23 and is likely to run until May 12 which includes a lot of travelling while the World Cup is due to start from May 30. The players will get very little time to rest, and they have to be smart enough to manage his workload said India skipper Virat Kohli. Meanwhile, echoing Kohli, Piyush Chawla said that being professional cricketers everyone needs to handle their own workload. Moreover, the veteran leg-spinner added that every cricketer has a clear idea of when to rest and when to play.

We all are professional cricketers. There is workload on everyone but somehow you have to manage things on your own. Everyone is different. All the players are individuals and they know how they are going to manage. They know when to play and when to take a break,” Kuldeep said.

Kuldeep is a skilful bowler

Quizzed about Kuldeep Yadav’s importance in the playing during the World Cup, Piyush Chawla noted that he is an accomplished bowler and is working hard to hone his skills every day. Chawla has refused to accept that Kuldeep is a mystery bowler saying that it is a myth according to them. He also hailed Kuldeep saying that he has a big heart and is not afraid of getting hit. Interestingly, Kuldeep Yadav has always credited Piyush Chawla for his success in the international arena.

He was never a mystery spinner. Mystery spinner is a myth according to me. He is a skilful bowler and as the day progresses you need to make that skill stronger and he is working on that.”

Kuldeep is not afraid to get hit, which is the most important thing for any spinner,” Chawla added.

In conclusion, Piyush Chawla stated that both Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal are wicket-taking bowlers and will be an asset during the World Cup. The men in blues will begin their campaign on June 5 against South Africa.
