Delhi Capitals announced their fixtures for the group stages of the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League. Taking to their official twitter handle, Delhi Capitals posted a picture of some eminent players in the franchise and asked the Dilwalos which means the Delhi Capitals fans to mark their dates. They will open their campaign against 3-time champions Mumbai Indians.
Delhi Capitals will start as the underdogs against Mumbai. However, in T20 cricket cannot predict much. It was Delhi Daredevils who had defeated Mumbai Indians in their last group game which had eliminated the latter from the tournament. They will play their 2nd game a day later against the Chennai Super Kings on 26th March.

Delhi Capitals like all other franchises in the tournament will play 14 group matches. They have a pretty strong side this time around and they would definitely look to change the fortunes for the relative underachievers of the tournament. Delhi Capitals is the only franchise from the initial group who has never qualified for the final of the tournament.

Delhi Capitals have a good bunch of players
In most of the seasons, they had a good bunch of players. However, they have never managed to gel together and win that coveted title for the franchise. Delhi Capitals will be bolstered by the return of Shikhar Dhawan to their squad after many years. Dhawan started of his IPL career in Delhi and then switched to different teams.
Dhawan was bought by Delhi in the Auctions after Sunrisers Hyderabad didn’t retain him. It will be an important tournament for players like Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant. All 3 batsmen are potential India talents. All three have already played international cricket. If they come up with a terrific performance in the tournament it might pave way for a call-up to the national squad in the World Cu squad.
Ishant Sharma who has been one of India’s spearhead with the red ball will look to lead the attack. There is no guarantee that he will be part of the Playing XI. But it will be an important tournament for him. The Delhi Capitals will play their final group match against the Rajasthan Royals on 4th May.
