Chelsea winger, Christian Atsu, who has been plagued by injuries ever since he joined Chelsea has seen his current loan to AFC Bournemouth cut short due to limited playing time under Eddie Howe. He has been impressive whenever he has played but has been a victim of bad luck and disappointing as well as recurring injuries which had plagues him for the previous season too when he was loaned over to Everton.
The player is understood to be distraught as he looks for regular playing time and if the situation doesn’t improve, his career might stall. He currently has no chance of making it in the Chelsea squad as he simply lacks the quality or experience to do so but has shown promise in training for the Blues where he has reportedly impressed Guus Hiddink. He will have to compete with Kenedy and Bertrand Traore for scraps and he would definitely want to avoid that.
Atsu had been shortlisted in the 55 man list for Ballon d’Or largely for his contribution to the Ghana national team where he has impressed and would look to build on this achievement over his career as the 23 year old looks for stable and regular playing time to cement his position in both the club and national squad as he begins to fulfil his early promise.
To acquire his service, two clubs currently in a perilous situation have emerged who will want to take him over for the remainder of the season in the hopes that he discovers his form which he had at Porto where he regularly terrorised defences with immense dribbling and creative ability. He should be slotting straight into the team at either club and would look to make a lasting impression over there as well as back in London as he would embark on a mission to follow Courtois’ path and become a fixture in the Chelsea squad.
