Marcelo Brozovic’s agent has hinted about a possible transfer to the premier league in January itself, which is huge news for the Gunners.
The Inter Milan midfielder, on loan from Dinamo Zagreb, was under the transfer radar since some time and was tracked by Chelsea, but the deal did not materialize due to the sacking of Jose Mourinho, which has now opened the doors again for Arsenal.
Roberto Mancini brought the Croatian player to San Siro for a small fee of £5million last January and his consistent performances in Italy has attracted interests from some top clubs.
His contract with Inter does not end until 2017 but an attractive offer would surely lure him, says his agent.
His agent told Italian outlet CalcioMercato: “He was looking for a bigger club than Dinamo Zagreb to prove his potential, and Inter wanted substance and freshness in midfield.”
“He’s improved to a European level, and has confidence in his ability to further improve.”
Gunners have issues with their midfield and Wenger is running short of options and he needs to act quickly to bring in Brozovic, who is being monitored by both Barcelona and PSG.
With Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin and Jack Wilshere all on the injury list, it is definitely necessary to add reinforcements soon as the Gunners are in a very good stage to win the Premier league this season.
Arsenal have reportedly made an offer of around €16m for the player, but the Italian giants are unwilling to sell him for any fee less than €25m, which is actually a huge sum, considering the fact that the player is still on loan.
Inter Milan are keen to make the move permanent for a small fee of €8m in the near future and his loan spell has proven to be a boon for him, with top clubs expressing considerable interest.
