Chennai Super Kings (CSK) once again produced an all-round effort to make it two out of two beating Delhi Capitals (SC) at their home turf by six wickets on March 26 (Tuesday).
Chasing a modest target of 148 runs, Shane Watson led the charge for the Chennai Super Kings. He has been in good form playing a few good knocks in the Pakistan Super League. However, after missing out in the first game, Watson returned to form with a bang. But Ambati Rayudu couldn’t get his scoring boots on in this game as Ishant Sharma got him out in the third over. Since then Watson and Suresh Raina looked in complete control of the proceedings. Both of them banked on boundaries as they came by freely.
The duo added 52 runs before Amit Mishra got Watson (44 off 26 out). The former Australian in an attempt to reach out to a wide delivery dragged his feet as out as Rishabh Pant whipped off the bails in a flash. Delhi chipped in once again with the wicket of Suresh Raina (30) but MS Dhoni (32*) and Kedar Jadhav (27) safely took Chennai Super Kings close to the victory lines. Dwyane Bravo who starred with the ball finished off the proceeding with a boundary with two balls to spare.

Clinical bowling effort from Chennai
Previously, at one point Delhi Capitals looked like getting 170 and that would have been a fabulous total on this pitch. But Chennai Super Kings have pulled things back brilliantly in the last five overs. Prithvi Shaw provided the impetus at the top for Delhi but he departed early. Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer were cautious in their approach and ate up too many balls. They added 43 runs for the second wicket to set a good platform for the power-hitters to come lower down the order.
But Dwayne Bravo with his slower ones was exceptional on this double-paced track. He picked up three wickets in just a span of six balls which included the ones of Rishabh Pant and Dhawan too. That triggered a collapse and Delhi failed to push the ante in the final few overs. Especially Pant’s wicket shifted the momentum of the game as he once looked to take the game away from the opponent.

The southpaw started from where he left in the last game. However, scoring a quickfire 25 off 13 balls, Pant holed to Shardul Thakur who took a brilliant catch at the deep square-leg. Delhi Capitals failed to recover from this as the defending champions contained them for a mere 147 runs. Chennai Super Kings will now be oozing with confidence with two back to back wins while Delhi will look to bounce back from the defeat in the next game.

The think tank of Delhi Capitals (Ponting and Ganguly) fielded just 3 foreign players today.
They picked Ishant, Keemo Paul and Tewatia ahead of Boult, Morris and Lamichhane.
You can change the name of your franchise but old stupid habits die hard. #DCvCSK #IPL2019

MS Dhoni is on another level @sanjaymanjrekar but to compare Pant's stumping to MS Dhoni?. Would be difficult to have his hands right behind the stumps when the bowler bowls a wide. #DCvCSK #IPL2019
