Before the start of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League, Star Sports, the officials broadcasters, had released a promo video showing Jasprit Bumrah challenging Virat Kohli. In the promo, Bumrah was heard saying that he cannot be the real number one bowler unless and until he wins the duel against Kohli, arguably the best batsman in the world right now.
The rivalry between the two dates a long way back. Making his IPL debut in 2013, Bumrah was hit for a four on the very first ball he had bowled to Kohli. However, on the very next delivery, he had dismissed Kohli to showcase his immense potential. Fast forward to 2019 and Bumrah has become one of the best bowlers in the world. Anyway, Bumrah has not managed to dismiss Kohli since 2013.
Kohli has dominated this contest, he has scored 99 runs against in the 9 innings against Mumbai Indians in IPL. The Royal Challengers skipper has always enjoyed himself against Mumbai and has amassed 571 runs against them at an average of 30.05.

Unsurprisingly, all eyes were on these two when Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore locked horns against each other on Thursday. Kohli came out to bat in the fourth over bowled by Bumrah. The scoreboard was reading 27 for 1 in pursuit of 188. And it did not take long for Kohli to show Bumrah who is the boss.
After playing his first ball for a dot, he hit three next three deliveries for fours to take further command over the rivalry.
