Rajasthan Royals (RR) pocketed their first win in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) during the clash of the royals, against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The Royals chased down the target with seven wickets in hand to register a comprehensive win.
Rajasthan register their first win
Chasing a moderate target of 159 runs, Rajasthan Royals got off to a flying start. Ajinkya Rahane and Jos Buttler gave a perfect start adding 60 runs for the first wicket. Rahane and Buttler looked in great touch as the worked around the balls to score runs easily. Virat Kohli somewhere missed the trick of bringing a spinner early on as Yuzvendra Chahal provided the breakthrough in the first over itself. He foxed Rahane with a googly to send him packing in the eighth over of the game.

But Jos Buttler kept the scoreboard ticking and eventually scored yet another half-century. Steven Smith – promoted to the top-order also looked confident and rotated the strike brilliantly. But Chahal came back against and this time to dismiss the set Buttler (59) to give Royal Challengers Bangalore an outside chance in the game. Smith and Rahul Tripathi looked confident to take the game close to the winning before Mohammad Siraj got rid of Smith in the last ball of the 19th over. But Tripathi and Ben Stokes ensured to reach the target without any hiccups.
Gopal runs down the Bangalore batting
Previously, Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel gave Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) a good start. They added 49 runs for the first before Virat Kohli departed. Kohli looked out of place as he struggled to find his timing right. On the other hand, Parthiv Patel played a gem of an innings to lead the Bangalore team on his shoulders. Just when things were looking good for the visitors, Shreyas Gopal bamboozled Kohli to dismantle his stumps.

He kept up the good work to dismiss AB de Villiers and Shimron Hetmyer in quick succession to have Bangalore at 73 for three. On the other end, Parthi Patel combined well with Marcus Stoinis who made his debut for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. They added 53 runs to bail their side out of danger before Parthiv got out after a well-played innings of 67 runs. Stoinis and Moeen Ali made a counter-attack in the last three overs to help Bangalore post 158 runs at the halfway stage.
This win will do Rajasthan Royals a world of good to their confidence going deep into the tournament.

Send the weakest team against this shitty bowling and fielding unit of @RCBTweets . Even they will win . Didn't consider Umesh Yadav as a white ball bowler. Neither he is a good fielder #RRvRCB

When the pitch is favouring spinners the great Kohli is bowling out all his fast bowlers. 8 out of 9 #RRvRCB

@yuzi_chahal is the only smart bowler in @RCBTweets he forces the batsman to make a mistake and others just wait. #RRvRCB #IPL2019

The only way RCB can win the IPL trophy is by allowing Chahal to bowl full 20 overs. #RRvRCB
