Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) losing streak stretched to six games in this edition of the Indian Premier League. Following their loss against Delhi Capitals on Sunday afternoon, all-rounder Moeen Ali admitted that it would be an uphill task for them to qualify for the playoffs.
Meanwhile, Bangalore missed the trick during the IPL auctions last year in Jaipur as pointed by former cricketer Gautam Gambhir. They picked players like Marcus Stoinis and Nathan Coulter-Nile who was not available from the start of the tournaments due to their national commitments. Moreover, they have failed to deliver as a team as they lack a leader in the bowling department. The likes of Umesh Yadav and Tim Southee have been unable to stand up to the occasion. The batting unit have also struggled due to inconsistency.

It is very frustrating: Moeen Ali
It was no different on Sunday as they could manage to post only 149 runs in their respective 20 overs. Virat Kohli single-handedly shouldered the team to the 100-run mark; however, it was a late resurgence for Moeen Ali that helped them post a below-par target. Delhi Capitals cruised to victory with seven balls to spare and four wickets in hands. Speaking at the end of the game, Moeen Ali it is disgusting to lose matches after putting in the hard work at the nets. He also added that they are making repetitive mistakes which have turned out to be very costly for them.
“At the moment, it is very frustrating,” England all-rounder Moeen said after RCB’s latest defeat. “We are training hard but not performing as we need to. On the field, we are a bit nervous at times and are feeling the pressure. It’s just frustrating as cricketers that we’re making the same mistakes every game. ‘You can’t afford to do that in the IPL,” he added.

Need a miracle to qualify
Furthermore, Moeen Ali was of the view that Royal Challengers Bangalore need a miracle to qualify to the playoff stages from here. However, he feels they need to improve a lot and win all the games to give themselves an outside chance.
“We need to improve and win all of our games, really. We need a miracle, to be honest,” he concluded.
