It was quite a story for Sam Curran in the last one year of his cricketing career. He made his International debut for England and showed his all-around skills against Indian National Cricket Team in the Test series. The brilliant performance earned him a million-dollar deal in IPL 2019 with Kings XI Punjab bidding him.
The flamboyant cricketer quoted that he is pretty much confident of returning home as an improved bowler. He lauded the quality of the Indian Premier League and added that he got a lot of learnings from the established and local players in the team.
“My first IPL and it has been a very good experience so far, playing in Indian conditions and in front of massive crowds. There is so much to learn from established names and even the ones who have not played international cricket,” Curran told PTI.
I am trying to pick the brain of Mohammed Shami:
Unlike the previous editions, Mohammed Shami has been pretty brilliant in this edition for Kings XI Punjab. He came into the tournament on the back of a good International stint with the Indian National Cricket Team.

Meanwhile, Sam Curran is pretty happy to learn from Shami. He also showed his confidence in himself that he would return home as an improve fast bowler after the conclusion of IPL 2019.
“I am getting to pick the brains of Shami. He is obviously a top class bowler and I am learning lots from him, especially how to bowl in Indian conditions and I am sure I will be an improved bowler at the end of the tournament,” said the son of former Zimbabwe all-rounder Kevin Curran and younger brother of England pacer Tom Curran.

Hat-trick was a great moment:
Sam Curran bowled a stunning spell of fast bowling against Delhi Capitals on the other night. It completely changed the complexion of the game and he ended up collecting a man of the match trophy and a hat-trick of wickets.
“It was a great moment. At that time I was not focussed on the hat-trick, I was focussed on defending the runs for the team. Luckily I was able to do that day and hat-trick was just a bonus,” he added while speaking to PTI.
Speaking of the ICC World Cup 2019, Sam Curran hopes that his name will be there on the squad for the upcoming grand event.

“It is the greatest tournament and hopefully my name will be there,” Curran Concluded.
All in all, so far, it has been a great debut year for Sam Curran. He still got quite a time left in the tournament to enjoy the game of cricket in India.
