Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fast bowler Deepak Chahar once again delivered a match-winning performance to guide his side a seven-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium to go at the top of the points table.

Chahar picked three wickets within the powerplay to break the backbone of Kolkata’s batting. The visiting team couldn’t recover from there despite an unbeaten half-century from Andre Russell. MS Dhoni has used Deepak Chahar very tactically in this tournament. He has completed his quota within the first ten overs and has provided early breakthroughs consistently. The Chennai Super Kings bowlers used the sluggish nature of the pitch to full effect to contain a heavyweight Kolkata batting to 108 runs.
