Table-toppers Chennai Super Kings (CSK) once against produced an outstanding bowling effort to restrict Rajasthan Royals (RR) for 151 runs after a flurry of runs early at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bowl first while Ajinkya Rahane also indicated that he wanted to bowl. The defending champions made two changes with Mitchell Santner and Shardul Thakur coming in place of Harbhajan Singh and Scott Kuggeleijn. On the other hand, Rajasthan made three changes bringing Sanju Samson, Jaydev Unadkat and Riyan Parag.

Skipper Rahane mentioned at the toss that they need to play freely and rightly so Joss Buttler and he went after the bowlers right from the start. Buttler took 11 runs from the first over of Deepak Chahar who has relatively been economical. Rahane too joined the party taking 14 runs from Mitchell Santner’s second over to get off to a flier. However, Chahar struck back in the third to dismiss Rahane (14). Despite that, Buttler went hard and hit Shardul Thakur for three back to back boundaries but Thakur had the last laugh in the fourth delivery getting the dangerous man Buttler (23) out.
Meanwhile, the dismissal of Jos Buttler shifted the momentum of the game and Chennai Super Kings grabbed it with both hands. The bowlers dictated the terms of the game as the runs dried up. Capitalising on the momentum, the visiting team picked three more wickets in short span to have Rajasthan Royals at 78 for five.
However, a patient knock from Ben Stokes and good support from debutant Riyan Parag and Jofra Archer in the middle helped the host post a respectable total on the scoreboard. Stokes chipped in with 28 runs before Deepak Chahal cleaned him. But a resurgence from Shreyas Gopal in the last over helped Rajasthan Royals post 151 runs at the halfway stage.

After 5 overs, Rajasthan Royals had made 53. Next 10 overs, another 50 only. Innings in free fall

In this #IPL2019 @rajasthanroyals have lost most of the their wickets coz of poor shot selection not coz of good ball. That's y they are at no.7 in points table. #RRvCSK #CSKvRR #IPL

Is it a legal catch, that taken by the substitute fielder. The ball hits his cap while juggling and rebounds back to his hand to dismiss Sanju Samson? #selectdugout #IPL2019 #RRvCSK @ProfDeano

Rajasthan needs Dravid,if not as their captain/player then atleast as their mentor! It's a big loss to the team after the 2015 season and their performance have already proved the same so far #RRvCSK
