Earlier, Chris Gayle came to the party for Kings XI Punjab at PCA stadium against Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, none of the batsmen succeeded in stitching a good partnership with him, which saw Royal Challengers Bangalore on the driver seat.
In reply, the skipper Virat Kohli played an anchor role for the team while AB de Villiers and Marcus Stoinis finished things in style. Some poor fielding from the Punjab players also helped the cause for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Speaking of the victory, AB de Villiers quoted that they have waited for the victory for a long time, which they got finally in the 7th game of the tournament. The star batsman also revealed that he wants to be as sharp as he can in the other form of the game.
”Waited for a long time for this, so we’re very happy. It’s a very small step in the right direction, but also a big one. I’ve got too much respect of the game to be upset about that, to get ahead of myself, to get too hard on myself. It needs one knock to get back in that confidence zone, and hopefully I can maintain that now. That’s exactly the reason I’ve decided not to play international cricket – to be as sharp as I can in the other forms of cricket,” he said.
Dale Steyn is a good addition:
AB de Villiers also quoted that the entry of Dale Steyn would bring them luck and victories. Further, he expressed his trust on Dale Steyn quoting that the fast bowler will give his everything for each ball he delivers.
”Get to work with the university guys, the local guys, which gives me the motivation to be an example for them. Was a fantastic move to get Dale involved. We all know what he’s capable of. One thing for sure is he’ll give 200% with every ball. We know what we have to do. We have to win a lot of games of cricket,” he added.
Well, as AB de Villiers said, it is a sweet victory for the team. Now, they got 2 points in their kitty and will travel Wankhede Stadium to take on Mumbai Indians in their next game.
