Kolkata Knight Riders will be looking to get back to winnings when they host table-toppers Chennai Super Kings at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. The Knight Riders have lost their last two encounters including one against the Super Kings and will have to punch above their weight to get the better of the defending champions. Super Kings had thoroughly dominated the Knight Riders during their seven-wicket win earlier this week and will start the game as firm favourites.

However, the Super Kings should guard against complacency. Knight Riders have looked almost unstoppable more often than not at the Eden Gardens. In the ongoing season, they have already defeated the likes of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab although they lost their last home game which was against Delhi Capitals. The game against Chennai Super Kings is definitely the toughest of the lot but the Knight Riders should fancy their chances.
Toss:
Chennai Super Kings have won the toss and decided to bowl first against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens.
Here is what the captains said:
MS Dhoni:
“We’ll bowl first. If you see the wickets have been good over here. It’s difficult to contain the batsmen here, hence we need the opposition to put runs. We have had a few niggles and concerns but not worried about that. Hoping Bravo comes back as soon as possible as he gives a balance to our side. Without him being there, we need to find the right balance. I think we are a good space. We are playing with the same squad.”
Dinesh Karthik:
“It’s important to hit the right areas for the bowlers. It’s been a flat wicket and it’s difficult to take wickets here. Lynn and Narine are back and Gurney is back too. Looking forward to this game. ”
