In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni might have recently shocked many by confronting on-field umpires in Jaipur, but he has often maintained his composure which eventually helped him in finest of the victories as an individual and then as a staunch leader. Also, in the IPL 2019, CKS batting coach Mike Hussey has praised Dhoni’s commitment.
The veteran Australian cricketer Hussey has hailed Dhoni for acclimatising to the conditions at the earliest. He added such all-round ability plays a significant role in the team’s domination.

Why talking about Dhoni’s nature, Hussey reiterated the senior campaigner opts for a slow-start before thump bowlers at the fag end of innings.
“If he comes into the team’s in trouble, quite often you see him play slowly and just resurrect the innings, build a partnership, we’ve seen how dominant and how powerful that can be, at the death as well,” PTI quoted Hussey as saying.
By going Dhoni’s finishing abilities and his stature, Hussey added Dhoni knows his role well and he’s capable to lend stability owing to his self-assurance. He believes the calm approach will serve as an advantage for the team Dhoni is representing.
“So that’s probably his value is that he can play a variety of roles. And he plays it very well with a calm head. So, so he’s a huge asset to any team that he plays for,” Hussey added.
Dhoni has been in some good form which has eventually helped his team to top the IPL points table 2019. They have won six out of their seven matches so far.
The Ranchi star Dhoni has looked in superb touch. This season, he has accumulated 214 runs in five innings at an average of 107. Apart from the match-winning innings against Rajasthan Royals, Dhoni already maintained they’ve backed themselves as a team.
Ahead of the CSK’s game against KKR, Hussey maintained their aim is to execute plans to perfection.

While speaking on tackling in-form Andre Russell, Hussey conceded there’re distinct teams which look out for the ways to neutralise Russell threat. He added one is supposed to keep his basics right–to make most out of what situation demands.
“He [Russell] is obviously in great touch at the moment. I just think every team is going to have some clear plans against him. But I think you need to be really calm in the moment with him, very clear on where you want to try and bowl and then execute that skill as best you can,” Hussey inferred.
So far, Russell has amassed 302 runs in six innings at an average of 100.67.
