Claudio Bravo believes his former teammate Antoine Griezmann has got what it takes to shine at Barcelona. The Chilean goalkeeper has played alongside Griezmann during their spell at Real Sociedad. However, both players parted company with Sociedad in 2014, with Claudio Bravo joining Barcelona and Griezmann joined Atletico Madrid.
Griezmann has been enjoying a terrific career with Atletico, making 81 appearances and netting 43 times. Griezmann has fallen under the radar of so many European giants, especially Chelsea- who have been tracking the French youngster to a long time. But the Barcelona goalkeeper feels Griezmann has the talent to be a Barca regular.
Bravo also spoke of his earlier attempts to lure the 24-year-old midfielder to Nou Camp.
“I was pleasantly surprised by him”, Claudio Bravo spoke to Espacio Reservado.
He also added how the Frenchman can match the bunch of highly talented Barcelona midfielders.
“I had him at home, I advised him, and I was tugging at his ears when I saw he was leaving. He has done well, he has matured quickly and he has understood the way to work and look after himself”
“He was very restless but is now a world-class player. He has the ability to play at Barcelona”
Bravo also spoke how good Atletico Madrid- Griezmann’s current team is.
“We have it clear, Atletico are a very serious side. With a good coach, great players, it is logical that they are at the top. The way they compete and never give up makes them a difficult opponent. They have a super-class picture, and line by line they have very good players. They know how to play”
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have same points, but the Catalan team have a game in hand and are already top of the table due to goal difference.
