Poor 32-year-old Robin van Persie is certainly enduring a miserable time in Turkey since joining Fenerbahce from Manchester United and when reports claimed Chelsea are eyeing a shock move for the former Mancehester United and Arsenal striker if a deal with Pato doesn’t succeed, it was really a shocker to rock the January transfer window. The Dutch striker has played 23 matches for the Turkish giants scoring 7 goals with I assist. Manchester United sold van Persie to Fenerbahce last summer, signing Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven.
Doubts over Pato’s fitness and form led Chelsea to make a move for van Persie on a short-term deal for the rest of the season. However the Brazilian striker from Corinthians arrived in London on Tuesday night and is expected to complete a medical on Wednesday afternoon. If all goes well then he will sign a six-month contract, with Chelsea paying his £30,000-a-week wages. They will have a chance to sign the Brazilian forward permanently on a three-year deal at the end of this season for a £12million fee.
As soon as the news came into limelight twitter reacted hilariously as football fans with their epic banters started to rule the social media platform.
