Indian National Cricket team all-rounder Hardik Pandya has gone through a lot in these last six-seven months. Marred with injuries to the recent controversy regarding his comments in Koffee With Karan, the young all-rounder has seen a lot. However, he has come out in style for the Mumbai Indians and wishes to carry it forward in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019.

The Baroda all-rounder sustained a back injury during the Asia Cup last year which kept him out of action for some time, He made a come back in the series against Australia, but his luring comments on the Koffee With Karan episode prolonged his days away from cricket. He returned during the series against New Zealand. However, to make things worse, Pandya again suffered a back injury during his return to the country which kept him out of the series against Australia. But the start cricketer is finally getting back to the groove playing in the Indian Premier League. Hardik Pandya’s form with both bat and ball will play a significant role in the upcoming quadrennial event.

Important to hit the ball well

So far, Pandya has compiled 186 runs at an average of 46.50 from eight games. He also boasts a staggering strike-rate and has been pivotal for Mumbai Indians batting at the lower-order. With the World Cup in one month’s time, Hardik Pandya feels it is important to have confidence going into the big stages. He also seemed excited about his first World Cup campaign.

“It is pretty important to always have the confidence behind you. The World Cup is a big stage. It is for the first time that I will be playing (a World Cup). It is important for me to keep hitting the ball well. I was away from the game for some time, so coming back it was important for me to hit well,” said Pandya.

Speaking on his role as the attacking batsman, Hardik Pandya said it is his role for the last four years now. Pandya also added that he had practised the same thing in the nets for quite some time now. The dynamic all-rounder also said that suspension helped him in a possitive way to introspect to his game and physical conditions. Out from the setback, Hardik Pandya admitted that he is happy now focusing only on his game.
