Here comes the first betting racket busted by the police for the Indian Premier League 2019. The Cricket Betting has always been the close and dark aspect of the game, as IPL nail-biters will give good profits for the betting gangs. Meanwhile, in the match between KKR and RCB, seven spectators in Eden Gardens, who are helping the Betting rackets were jailed.
In the F-1 block of the stadium, the policemen arrested a group of people, who are sending the information to the bookies present outside the stadium. The police officers nabbed the guilty to put them behind the bars.
Out of seven, four of those arrested were from Nagpur in Maharashtra. Three others hailed from Sagar town in Motinagar police station area in Madhya Pradesh, police said. Their mobiles were also seized by the officers.

“Fourteen mobile phones including one betting accessory have been seized. A specific case is being recorded at Maidan Police Station,” said Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP), crime, Praveen Tripathi.
As it happened:
Coming to the match, it was Virat Kohli’s show at Eden Gardens followed by a few scintillating performances from the rest of the batsmen of either team. The skipper of RCB scored a century while Moeen Ali smashed a blistering half-century to help RCB cross the 200-mark on the board.

In reply, Nitish Rana of KKR went berserk after a couple of wickets by Dale Steyn. Rana stood till the end but failed to see his side cross the line, as Robin Uthappa played an unusual knock in the middle overs. And also, Russell entertained the crowd with his blitzkrieg. In the end, KKR were 10 runs short to RCB’s tally.
As far as the bowling department is concerned, it was a nightmare for either team. Especially, the wrist spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav were taken to the cleaners in the middle overs. All in all, it was a brilliant show last night at Eden Gardens.
