The absence of David Warner was clearly present in the last year edition of IPL despite Kane Williamson did exceptionally well with his willow and with his captaincy. Finally, he made his comeback into the tournament and announced himself in a style. Currently, Warner is already the holder of an orange cap.

David Warner announced his comeback in a style by smashing a scintillating knock for Hyderabad at Eden Gardens. Later, he continued in the remaining games and also bagged a century to be the leading run-scorer of the tournament at present.

David Warner has been consistent for SRH:

Meanwhile, in one of those staggering stats, David Warner became the first batsman to score in excess of 500 runs in five consecutive editions, in which, he played. The flamboyant striker of the ball has crossed the milestone mark in 2014, 2015, 2016 and the 2017 edition of the tournament before crossing 500-run mark in the ongoing edition of the tournament.

Surprisingly, all his success came for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League. Before signing for Hyderabad, he played for Delhi franchise, where he failed to tough 500-run mark at least once in his 5 editions of stay with them.

Recently, VVS Laxman revealed that David Warner has promised to score 500 runs to Tom Moody and VVS before leaving the tournament. It seems like he wanted to give a few extra runs for the team before his departure to Australia.

In another record, David Warner joins Virat Kohli to score 500 runs in a single edition for the five times in the tournament history. The skipper of Royal Challengers Bangalore was the first cricketer to do so. The next best in the list is Chris Gayle, who did that three times alongside Suresh Raina and Gautam Gambhir.

Currently, David Warner is at the top place with 517 runs in his 9 innings while second place in the table was taken by Jonny Bairstow, who garnered 449 to his name. The chart was followed by the Kings XI Punjab openers Chris Gayle and KL Rahul, who scored 421 and 399 runs respectively.
