Barcelona has once again come knocking at Old Trafford and has made life difficult for Louis van Gaal in the dying hours of this January window.
Spanish outlet, Don Balon, reported that Barcelona who were understood to be scouting for Celta Vigo forward Nolito have now left the race for the Spaniard and are now in for another Spaniard from Manchester United.
It was reported that Barcelona and Luis Enrique are keen on bringing Juan Mata to the Camp Nou before Monday or this summer.
It’s thought the Red Devils would be willing to listen to offers, but a summer switch seems more likely with the Old Trafford outfit struggling for some consistency at the moment.
Mata left Spain in 2011 after Chelsea paid £23.5m to secure his services from Valencia. He has not been able to live up to the expectations after his big-money move from Chelsea to Manchester and has not really nailed down a starting place under Louis van Gaal.
He might be keen on a move away from the club and a possible move to play with the likes of Messi and Neymar may be too sweet to turn down as this move looks to be on the cards even if it in the summer.
Mata will also be welcome to a move back to his homeland as it now looks increasingly hard for the Red Devils to hold onto their star player for the next season.
Barca will have to cough up some big amount for the 29-year old who has more than a year of his contract in England but the Catalan giants will not be too concerned as Mata is a proven player in the country.
Do you think Untied can hold on to their star player Juan Mata?
