The Mumbai based franchise has been the most successful team along with Chennai Super Kings. They were the first to win three IPL titles and have also been the two-time winners of the now defunct Champions League T20.

A team is nothing without its players. The Mukesh Ambani owned franchise has had many great players in their team, making the competition tougher. Since the beginning, Mumbai Indians have auctioned for the best of players in the season. While the team always have world-class players in its squad, they also had players who couldn’t prove their worth to them.

And with time, MI has taken some difficult decisions in retaining certain players. And where some of these players have played well for them in the next season, there have been players who performed well for the other franchises.

Here are the three players whose career jumped up after leaving the joint-successful team of the IPL.

Yuzvendra Chahal is currently the best leg spinner in the world. The Haryana spinner started off his career with Mumbai Indians in 2011, where they earned their Champions League Trophy. Though Chahal did not get any chance to show his talent in the tournament. He played just one match for the franchise.

In 2014 season, he got snapped up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore and since then he has been with the franchise. His brilliant performance in the IPL for the team has also earned him a place in the Indian team.

Though the last few years have been unlucky for RCB, Chahal has been climbing the ladder of success in the game becoming the world’s best wrist spinner. So far he has tackled down a total of 96 wickets in 80 matches for the Kohli-led RCB.

Dwayne Bravo is one of the best all-rounders of the World in the shortest version of the game. It is like where ever he goes, success follows him. After his gloomy days in Mumbai Indians, three seasons later, he was taken up by the Chennai Super Kings ahead of 2011 IPL.

After that CSK skipper, Dhoni found his way around the Windies player and had put him to good use for the team. His move from the MI had proved beneficial for him. His impeccable all-rounder performance had led the Gujarat Lions to snatch him ahead of the 2016 season. After this, though, he was again retained by CSK ahead of 2018 season.

The hard-hitting batsman and a fine death overs specialist has been one of the best T20 players in cricket history.

The hard-hitting batsman and wicketkeeper is one of the most feared batsmen in the shortest format of cricket. The terrific batsman has the ability to turn the game around in just a few balls, changing the whole game for his team.

Buttler got his first call in the IPL from MI. But the explosive batsman struggled in the team between the opener and the middle order batting. Consequently, he was unable to etch his presence in the world famous league. In the two years, he played for MI, his collective runs were 527 in 24 matches. On the other hand, he scored 548 runs in just 13 in 2018 IPL season when he was picked up by Rajasthan Royals.

And even this year, the English batsman has kept up his performance. With the strike rate of 151.70, he has made 311 runs in the eight matches he had played for Rajasthan Royals.
