The FA Cup fifth round draw took place at the Stadium::MK just after the conclusion of the match between the MK Dons and Chelsea. The teams were awaiting their fates as most of the heavyweights were still in the draw due to the relative lack of upsets in the oldest cup competition of them all.
Here is the draw, which was presented by Ruud Gullit, in full:
Chelsea v Manchester City
Reading v West Brom/Peterborough
Watford v Leeds United
Shrewsbury Town v Manchester United
Blackburn Rovers v Liverpool/West Ham United
Tottenham v Crystal Palace
Arsenal v Hull City
Bournemouth v Everton
The match between Chelsea and the Citizens is easily the biggest match of the round as Chelsea will look to seek revenge on the only Premier League team to beat them in the FA Cup in the last three seasons. Manchester City would meanwhile be without their star man Kevin De Bruyne who has picked up a major injury.
Other matches of note will be Tottenham vs Crystal Palace as FA Cup serves up yet another feisty derby. Spurs will look to take the wind out of the Eagles’ sails as they ride a wave of optimism under Pochettino.
Another tie composed of the BPL teams is Bournemouth vs Everton match in which the home side would do well to defeat the Toffees, especially after today’s impressive win.
Manchester United and Arsenal get easy rides with matches against Shrewsbury Town and Hull City respectively. West Brom, Liverpool and West Ham are the top league sides who await their fate pending the rematch of their fourth round tie.
