Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli prayed for a speedy recovery for his RCB teammate Dale Steyn who had to return to South Africa after playing only two matches in IPL 12 after injuring his shoulder. Dale Steyn has injured his shoulder in the past and it flared up quite badly. He has now returned to South Africa and will be addressed by a shoulder specialist as South Africa Cricket aims to get him fit for the marquee event slated to begin from 30th May 2019.
Taking to his twitter handle, the Indian and the RCB skipper wrote, “Speedy Recovery mate! You’re a champion on and off the field.” Dale Steyn was brought in the Royal Challengers Bangalore camp as a replacement for Nathan Coulter Nile. It was after 9 years, Dale Steyn turned up in Royal Challengers Bangalore colours.

He bowled brilliantly in the two matches he was part of the RCB playing XI. He bagged the prized wicket of Chris Lynn and bowled with venom. In the match against the Chennai Super Kings, he bagged the wicket of Shane Watson and Suresh Raina in consecutive deliveries. The delivery to Suresh Raina will be one of the best deliveries of the tournament.
Steyn is in the preliminary South Africa World Cup squad and the South African team management will be eager to get him back for the showpiece event. Dale Steyn might be in the twilight of his career but he is still a threat to the opposition and his presence in the South Africa World Cup squad will definitely provide experience and stability to the bowling line-up.
Royal Challengers Bangalore made a surprise comeback in the tournament with 4 victories in their last 5 matches and the two victories were led by a brilliant piece of bowling from Dale Steyn.
