Delhi Capitals (DC) as a team has relied on a fearless cricket as the mixed batch of youth and experience has set up the tone for the Delhi-based franchise in the IPL 2019.

Throughout the ongoing tournament, Capitals as a unit has produced an outstanding result to make it to the playoffs since 2012.

With the ball, Kagiso Rabada has played a spectacular role by snaring 25 wickets in 12 matches. Unfortunately, he has been ruled out of the IPL 2019 due to a back niggle.

On the other side, Rabada’s teammate Chris Morris has scalped 13 wickets.

In the batting department, Shikhar Dhawan has shown consistency by leading Capitals’ run charts with 486 runs in 14 innings.

On the other side, skipper Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant have also accumulated 400-plus each.

Overall, the resurgent Delhi had made a remarkable comeback to make a statement.

Anyway, they’re keen to lift their maiden title, but there are obstacles too. While emerging as an improved outfit, the statements from Pant and Iyer had somewhat motivated  Capitals early on.

Here’s the list of players who could be released by Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2020:

Rahul Tewatia:

Rahul Tewatia is expected to be released from the Capitals’ squad for the 13th edition of the IPL.

The 25-year-old leg-spinner Tewatia didn’t get many opportunities with the ball, but he is likely going to be released for the IPL 2020.

The Haryana-based Tewatia has managed two wickets in five matches. Even though, Tewatia has conceded 42-runs off 38 balls, Capitals would like to invest elsewhere.

With the bat, in four innings, he managed to add 26 runs.

Colin Ingram:

The 33-year-old South African batsman Colin Ingram hasn’t done well in the IPL. With his average reading as 18.40, Munro has managed to score 184 in 12 innings.

On the other side, Ingram has scored runs at the strike-rate of 119.48. He as a batsman has failed at the crucial junctures.

The left-handed batsman has managed to score best of 47 in this season. Overall, he had a wretched run with the bat which also makes a strong case for his exit from the Capitals’ squad.

Sherfane Rutherford:

Windies Sherfane Rutherford despite a cameo or so, is likely to lose his spot for the next IPL edition.

The Guyanese all-rounder has managed to score just 54 off five matches. Even though he has scored runs at the strike-rate of 180, he couldn’t do much with the ball in hand.

The 20-year-old Rutherford has given away 48 runs off 35 balls. He has managed to pick a solitary wicket in this edition.

So, in all likelihood, Rutherford might get released ahead of the IPL 2020.
