Andrea Pirlo hails Mesut Ozil as the most creative player in Europe 1

Italian veteran Andrea Pirlo has hailed the impact of Ozil in Arsenal, and labelled his as the most creative player in Europe. Pirlo, who is currently in the MLS side New York City FC, praised the Arsenal midfilder for his unique ability to create great chances from nothing, and equally voiced his delight over the footballing vision of the German.

Earlier, Pirlo named the Arsenal No.11 in his dream Premier League team.

“Ozil is the most creative player in Europe right now.” Andre Pirlo spoke to Shortlist Magazine.

“He creates an unbelievable amount of chances for attackers playing ahead of him. He has vision like nobody else in Europe.”

Andrea Pirlo left Juventus at the end of last season to join New York City FC, after helping the team to reach the final of UEFA Champions League which they eventually lost to Barcelona.

Arsenal has been relying a lot on the German as the club is genuine contender for the Premier League title this season.

Ozil has acknowledged 16 assists to his name in the Premier League, and has also found the back of the net four times in the League. Only Henrikh Mkhitaryan of Borussia Dortmund has more assists than Ozil across Europe’s top five leagues.

Apart from the stat, Ozil has already created 99 chances for Arsenal in this Premier League season, and no player has managed to create as many chances in the entire 2014-15 Premier League season.

Ozil has not created an assist in this calendar year, which was Arsenal’s main reason in faltering in the title race, but the German was back to his usual self last night, as he helped Arsenal to get back to winning ways.
