We have already witnessed quite a few biopics on cricketers which have taken the world by storm and if reports in the mid-day.com is to be believed then we might witness a documentary on former Aussie legend Shane Warne who was according to me the finest ever spinner to grace the game of cricket. The documentary will portray Shane Warne’s career along with exclusive interviews with his family, friend, colleagues and their rival opponents.

As per reports, it is learnt that Eclipse Film has paired up with production companies Gospel and Dogwoof. They are expected to title the film ‘Shane’ as per reports in the Variety. The project was announced in Cannes on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the producer Dogwooof is now introducing it to international buyers.

As per reports, the film is expected to portray the life story of Shane Warne and also show his intimacy and character and reputation both on and off the field. He had a larger than life character and was involved in several controversies outside the cricketing field. It remains to be seen which aspects are covered by the director in the documentary film.

Just like the cricketer himself, he had a colourful life off the field. He was tested positive for a banned substance just ahead of the 2003 World Cup and was suspended from international cricket for a year. Personally, he had a big divorce with Simone Warne due to his never-ending affairs and extramarital relationships with supermodels. He was also caught on tape having sex with two models.

“The word legend, like a superstar, is much overused these days but in the case of Shane Warne it fits perfectly as he really is one of the greatest athletes to grace the sporting world,” said producer John Sachs. “Eclipse Films are extremely excited to be part of telling Shane’s story.”
