The Indian National Cricket Team under the captaincy of Virat Kohli sealed an ODI series victory against South African when they last toured there. They were even close to winning the Test series but made it happen in the ODI series. Meanwhile, Lungi Ngidi, who was the debutant at that time wants to make an impact when both the team collide in ICC World Cup 2019.

Currently, South Africa is facing the issue with fitness concerns of Dale Steyn and Kagiso Rabada. However, the statement from their head coach came in as a sigh of relief for the team. Ottis Gibson confirmed the news by stating that the duo will be available for the grand event.

“I’m looking forward to India,” Ngidi said. “When they came here, they had a good series against us. So in my mind I believe we owe them one. It would be a very exciting game for me. I’m sure it will be for all the guys as well.” “They’re a great team don’t take that away from them. But when they had a good series here, we were missing a few players. With those guys back, we’ll see how it evens out a bit,” he added.

“We are well aware that they are probably under a lot more pressure than we are; they are hosts, they’re considered to be favourites and that’s an advantage for us,” Ngidi said of England.  We obviously want to win and if we do, it would send a massive statement, if it’s not a win it doesn’t throw us out of the tournament.”

South Africa will play their first game against England, which will be the tournament opener as well. By the time when they meet the Indian team, they will already complete two games in the tournament while the Indian National Cricket Team will be playing their first game.

The match between South Africa and England is set to be played at London on 30th May while the game against India will be organised on June 5th at Southampton.
