It has been a brilliant day at the office for the Australian team against the Pakistan Cricket Team at Taunton. The flamboyant knock from David Warner, which was well supported by Aaron Finch saw them posting a massive total on the board. For Pakistan, Mohammad Amir was the star performer.
Getting into the details, initially, it was Pakistan, who won the toss, asked Australians to bat first. Despite the conditions looked uncomfortable for the batsman, Aaron Finch and David Warner batted brilliantly to make things fall in place for the team.
David Warner scored 107:
Finch, in particular, played freely to put Pakistan fielders chasing the leather more often than not. Meanwhile, David Warner, once again, started things slowly but later, showed his class, which saw him knocking a brilliant century for the team.

Aaron Finch was unfortunate to miss out a century after playing a stunning knock. The wicket of Finch was quickly followed by Steve Smith while Glenn Maxwell played a brief cameo before being knocked out by Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Despite the wicket, Warner played smartly alongside Shaun Marsh. But, once again, Mohammed Amir showed his class by removing Usman Khawaja while Afridi removed David Warner. Shaun Marsh too failed to convert his knock into a big one.
All of a sudden, Pakistan bowlers pulled things back in control for the team. The score, which looked like nearing 400 runs on the board, hardly, got a move in the death overs. The likes of Wahab Riaz, Hassan Ali bowled brilliantly in the death overs.

Once again, it was Alex Carey, who found a few boundaries in the middle for the team to help Australia post a decent total on the board after the glorious start. For Pakistan, Amir was the standout performer.

I don’t mean to be disheartening but this fielding from Pakistan is rubbish!!

Ever since his comeback to competitive cricket, Warner has looked like a man on a mission. Focused. Putting a heavy price tag on his wicket. Too slow against India was a fair criticism but then…we haven’t been in his place…none of us has lost as much. Well played ?? #CWC19

Rahat Ali in Adelaide and Asif Ali in Taunton. Nothing has changed for Wahab Riaz and Pakistan in four years. #CWC19

Has anyone else noticed that every non-striker is behind the crease when the ball is bowled? Everytime. As it should be. So hopefully the era of running less for a run is over.

Pitch still has a lot to offer for the pace bowlers. Pakistan hasn’t pitched it full enough…hasn’t caught or fielded well enough. Won’t be surprised if they go on to lose this by 100+ runs. #EarlyCall #AusvPak #CWC19

There ought to be a modern way of measuring this spell by Mohammed Amir. In a class of his own today.
