England are set to face West Indies in a very important game for both sides on Friday. Both sides are impressive so far in the tournament. They are gunning for a win at The Rose Bowl to make sure they are one step closer to top four.
Hosts England have been dominant so far in this world cup. But their loss against Pakistan was an uneventful one due to poor fielding and bad bowling. They started off strongly against South Africa and won the game comfortably by 104 runs.
However, their loss against Pakistan was a shock. But the team composed themselves against Bangladesh and put on a complete performance. Eventually, England outdid Bangladesh in all three departments and won the game by 106 runs.

Their batting is looking very strong, probably the best in this world cup. However, their bowling looks to be a slight concern. Although, Mark Wood and Jofra Archer have impressed, others were not so effective in the middle overs.
Meanwhile, England’s pace bowler Mark Wood is facing race against time to be fit for the game against West Indies. Wood is currently suffering from a sore ankle but England will hope to see him fit for Friday.
On the other hand, West Indies surprised everyone with their performance against Pakistan. The Caribbean team absolutely demolished Pakistan in their opening game. However, few bad decisions in the chase against Australia saw them lose to the defending champions in a thriller.

Although, they were on top against South Africa, rain played spoil sport and West Indies shared points with Proteas. However, they will be no pushovers for hosts England. The team are packed with match winners and are looking very dangerous in this world cup so far.
Match Prediction
The battle between England and West Indies promises to be an very interesting one. Hosts England are considered title favorites while West Indies are playing very good cricket despite their dark horses tag.
West Indies are doing a commendable job by working together as a team. However, the battle between Chris Gayle and Jofra Archer in the opening spell could be the match defining one. If the English pacers can get Chris Gayle dismissed in the first few overs, they have a very good chance of running into West Indies middle overs.
But if they fail to do so, the veteran hitter proved the destruction that he can cause, during the bilateral series between the two sides. England will start the match as clear favorites. They should be able to win the game comfortably if they play to their potential and Gayle has an off day.
