It turned out to be a cracker of a Sunday with arch-rivals India and Pakistan locking horns in the ongoing ICC World Cup. While the likes of Virat Kohli and Mohammed Amir were trending on social media, England’s Ben Stokes’ name was also doing the rounds for some bizarre reason. Numerous cricket fans mentioned Stokes on the micro-blogging site Twitter every time Virat Kohli celebrated the fall of a wicket.

Many believed Kohli was uttering Stokes’ name but in reality it was just another ‘Indie slang’. While fans saw the funny side of it, Stokes was mulling the idea of deleting his Twitter account, thanks to all of this unwanted attention.
He tweeted, “I may delete Twitter just so I don’t have to see another tweet reading “He’s saying Ben Stokes”(when he’s clearly not)in reply to a video of Virat saying you know what it was funny the first 100,000 times”.

Indian skipper Kohli made a 65-ball 77, whereas opener Rohit Sharma top-scored for India with an elegant 140. The men in blue went on to put up a total of 336/5 in their 50 Overs. It looked like a daunting task for Pakistan but Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam were involved in a century-stand to raise some hopes. Soon after wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav sent back both the batters and the chasing side never recovered from there on.
Fakhar made 62 and Babar chipped in with 48. Pakistan lost wickets in heaps and found themselves short of the par score by 85 runs. Vijay Shankar bagged a couple of wickets while Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep shared 4 wickets between them. The game was halted with 15 overs left due to rain but soon play resumed with Pakistan needing 136 runs to win off 30 balls. Clearly, Kohli was highly animated and it didn’t help Stokes much.
