Salman Butt slams Pakistan's performance, fans return the favor 1

Former Pakistan cricketer Salman Butt mocked the Pakistan cricket team after Sarfaraz Ahmed‘s men were thrashed by India in Manchester. Batting first, India piled up 336/5 in 50 Overs and sealed a comfortable 89-run win (D/L). Apart from Mohammed Amir, no other bowlers stood out for Pakistan. The Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul provided India a century stand and Virat Kohli capitalized on the start.

Rohit made 140 while Rahul and Kohli chipped in with 57 and 77 respectively. Mohammad Amir bagged three wickets while the rest of the bowlers took a beating. Chasing 337 to win their maiden World Cup game against India, Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam took matters in their own hands and stitched in a hundred-run stand. But both the batters were dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav in a space of few deliveries.

Pakistan were outplayed by India

Fakhar made 62 and Babar departed two runs short of a half-century. Apart from these two, Imad Wasim is the only other batter with a notable score of unbeaten 46* off 39 balls. In 40 overs, Pakistan made 212/6 but that was just not enough to upset India.

Butt faces the wrath of angry fans

Butt, who was banned from representing his country due to involvement in a spot-fixing scandal, received flakes from cricket fans. Many reminded him of his past scandal while the rest asked him to stay away from the cricketing circuit. Butt blocked a few of his followers and put up another tweeting dedicated to the people who threw volleys at him. It didn’t quite end well for the former skipper as many fans took pot-shots at him.

Post the encounter against India, Sarfaraz said that winning the toss was an advantage but the bowlers didn’t do enough to create pressure. They didn’t bowl in the right line and gave away easy runs. Mohammad Amir was the only stand out bowler as he picked up 3 wickets and conceded less than five runs an over.
