Pakistan left-arm paceman Mohammad Amir, who is the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019, is crestfallen following their humiliating 89-run (DLS method) loss against India on June 16, in Manchester. Following a timid performance from the Men in Green, their fans criticised national stars for failing to live upto the expectations in the much-anticipated clash on Sunday.

Moreover, fans have also used bad language for Pakistan players that eventually irked Amir, who himself managed to snare three scalps in his quoted of 10 overs against dominant force, the Men in Blue.

The prominent paceman conceded 47 runs apart from bowling a solitary maiden. Amir has accounted for Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni respectively.

However, rest of the bowlers went for plenty except Imad Wasim, who gave away 49 runs in 10 overs.

Amir, who looked out of sorts ahead of the World Cup, is back into his rhythm. He has picked wickets at regular intervals. For over two years, Amir has struggled to kneel down the opposition. But now, he seemed to have found his form back after failing to leave an impact for the major-half of his return to the international fold.

Earlier, Amir missed out on to be a part of Pakistan’s provisional World Cup squad, but later, he got introduced in the line-up after management reposed faith in him.

So far, Amir has proved his mettle by claiming 13 wickets in just four matches so far.

The impressive Amir has also claimed a five-for against Australia at the County Cricket Ground in Taunton. Amir has bowled 216 deliveries in which he conceded just 170 runs at the 2019 World Cup. On the other side, mercurial Pakistan is listed ninth on the table with just three points.

Earlier, following a comprehensive win over Pakistan, India has maintained their winning spree with 7-0 at the World Cup event.

Well, following a backlash, Amir has requested Pakistani fans to avoid using a bad language. He has urged them to back Pakistan while adding they are free to criticise the team’s pathetic performance.

Besides, he is hopeful that Pakistan will bounce back as they have four matches to play with at the league stage fixtures of the ongoing ICC World Cup.

“Please don’t use bad words for the players. Yes, you guys can criticise our performance. We will bounce back InshAllah (and for that) we need your support,” dejected Amir wrote on his Twitter handle.
