From nowhere, a good performance in IPL 2019 has ensured the Indian team believe in KL Rahul to do the job at number 4 position. He responded well but it was only for a couple of games, as he was once again asked to open the innings for the team. Nonetheless, he was successful in the opening role as well. Meanwhile, the Windies star Brian Lara showers words of praise on the youngster.
Ahead of the game against Pakistan, the main concern for the Indian team is about the performance of KL Rahul at top of the order in absence of Shikhar Dhawan. Despite all the concerns, he came out with flying colours by adding a solid partnership with Rohit Sharma.
KL Rahul got the technique – Brian Lara
Speaking of KL Rahul, Brian Lara quoted that the opening batsman KL Rahul will relish opening the batting for his side. He believes that KL Rahul got the knack of scoring runs and the new ball will not be a problem for him. Brian Lara feels that IPL performances would certainly boost his confidence at the opening slot.

“Rahul is India’s second-best batsman after Virat Kohli and he has been the opening batsman for IPL (Indian Premier League) as well. While batting at number four, India has already made a masterstroke as just in case if there is a mishap in the beginning of the game, he has come in at number four and played like an opening batsman,” Brian Lara said.

Further, the Windies legendary cricketer quoted that KL Rahul got the right technique, which would help him to deliver the goods for the team. Lara believes that new ball won’t be a problem for him at any cost.

”Especially after the technique that he has, facing the new ball is not going to be an issue for him. I am looking forward to seeing something special from him. For me, he is going to be one of the top run-scorers in the World Cup,” Lara signed off.
Well, as Brian Lara said, KL Rahul won’t find it tough to adjust at the opening slot for India. Most probably, he will continue to open the innings for India in the remaining part of the tournament.
