The game of cricket isn’t an exception, in fact, many of the people here have their inspirations and idols. Meanwhile, surprisingly, Ravichandran Ashwin reveals Dinesh Karthik as his inspiration.
In the latest episode of Breakfast with Champions, Ashwin poises himself in a candid conversation with Gaurav Kapur in Chennai. It was the light-hearted banter generally rivets between his personal and professional life, filled with quirks and interesting tidbits on the game.
I believed Dinesh Karthik could be next Sachin – Ravichandran Ashwin
During the course, he revealed that Dinesh Karthik as his inspiration during his childhood. Further, he lavished praises on Karthik saying that every kid in Chennai knew that Karthik is going to play for the Indian National Cricket Team.
Ravichandran Ashwin also revealed that he used to visit stadiums to watch Dinesh Karthik play the game even in under-19 matches or under-17 matches. Ashwin quoted that Karthik was a revelation during his times.
“Dinesh (Karthik) is an inspiration for me. A lot of people don’t know this because he was the rockstar. Everybody with the Tamil Nadu cricketing circuit knew that Dinesh Karthik was going to play for India,” Ashwin said.
