Well, MS Dhoni has become the major headliner ever since the game against England. They questioned his approach in the chase of a mammoth total with as many s 5 wickets left in the kitty. Despite all the criticism, the England fast bowler Liam Plunkett comes in support of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

When India needed 71 runs off 31 balls, especially, with Hardik Pandya going back to the pavilion, one would have expected MS Dhoni to take the charge in the middle. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case, as he never showed any positive intent in winning the game for the team.

Despite losing KL Rahul early, Rohit Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli kept the Indian chase on track as the pair added 128 runs for the second wicket. Rohit also scored his third century of the tournament but after his dismissal, the hopes of India winning the contest were diminished.

With 71 still required to win in the final five overs, all eyes were on Dhoni. However, the wicketkeeper-batsman, along with Kedar Jadhav, struggled and were only able to fetch 39 in the final 31 balls, which included 20 singles and seven dot deliveries.

MS Dhoni can go smashing in the next game – Liam Plunkett

Speaking of the criticism to MS Dhoni, the England fast bowler Liam Plunkett, who picked three wickets that include the key wicket of Virat Kohli quoted that no one can underestimate the calibre of MS Dhoni. He felt that Dhoni can go smashing right in the next game, which is his class.

“I just think in the next game he (Dhoni) can go smashing. I think you can never underestimate Dhoni. His talent stands out as how good player he is,” said Plunkett at the post-match press conference after England’s win over India.

Well, of late, the Indian batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s batting technique has come under the scanner. The questions are being raised on his batting approach, especially, when the team is chasing over 300 on the board.

Despite that, he got continuous support from the Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and the team management. Perhaps, that would be the trust in MS Dhoni’s experience.
