Once again, the Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma has grabbed the heart of the fans with his sweet gesture to an Indian fan. One of his Sixes at Edgbaston got hurt to a female Indian fan during his stunning knock against Bangladesh.

Rohit Sharma met the girl, identified as Meena, after the match to present a yellow autographed hat. She was hit in the face by the ball when the supporter in front of her failed to catch it.

It was another one of the classic ‘Rohit Sharma’ shows on display in Birmingham yesterday as the classy Indian opener led his side to a respectable total of 314 on a tricky pitch at Edgbaston.

Rohit Sharma scored a century against Bangladesh:

The Indians did enough to ensure that they ran out comfortable winners in the end. And also, secured a spot in the semi-finals alongside defending champions Australia.

However, en route to his 92-ball 104 Sharma ended up injuring a young Indian fan in the stands after one his sixes struck her on the face. The Deputy skipper was kind enough to meet the girl. She is identified as Meena, after the match to present a yellow autographed hat.

During his stunning knock, Rohit Sharma became only the 2nd batsman after Sri Lankan batting legend Kumar Sangakkara to score 4 centuries in a single edition of the World Cup. He now has 26 centuries in one-day internationals.

Rohit had hit hundreds against South Africa, Pakistan and England so far in World Cup 2019. Last day, he scored another against Bangladesh in Birmingham. Rohit Sharma is now joint second in the list of most century scorers in World Cup history with Ricky Ponting and Kumar Sangakkara.

Meanwhile, BCCI took to Twitter to share pictures of Rohit presenting an autographed cap to the fan. They wrote: ” “She is Meena. She was hit by a ball when Rohit Sharma hit a six. After the game, she was presented with an autographed hat.”
