More often than not, former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has face wrath on the social media for his views. In between, Manjrekar has been criticised for targeting prominent all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. But, at the same time, Manjrekar has effusively praised Jadeja during India-Sri Lanka game in Leeds.
In his first World Cup game of the twelfth edition on Saturday (July 6), Jadeja deceived Lankan captain, Kusal Mendis before Manjrekar got trolled for his earlier comments again on Twitter.
While talking about Jadeja, Manjrekar maintained that Jadeja is a ‘bits and pieces player’ when it comes to the limited-overs circuit. In between, Manjrekar has referred Jadeja as a ‘pure bowler’ when it comes to the Test fold. He further put weight behind selection by revealing he would either pick a proper batsman or the bowler in the white-ball cricket.
Manjrekar picks Jadeja for semis:

And despite all the criticism, the cricketer-turner-commentator has backed Jadeja for the semi-final clash after India become the second team following a 28-run win over Bangladesh.
“I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner,” Manjrekar revealed on air.
However, infuriated Jadeja took to Twitter to give it back to Manjrekar. While scathing Manjrekar, Jadeja also suggested him to show respect towards the players. Jadeja added that he has featured in double the matches what the Mumbaikar has played.
“Still I have played twice the number of matches you have played and I’m still playing. Learn to respect people who have achieved. I have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea. @sanjaymanjrekar,” Jadeja tweeted.
After a couple of days, Manjrekar has named Jadeja in his India’s playing XI for the semi-final.
“Trying to predict the Indian team for the semis. Let’s see how many I get right. Do send yours too. Will retweet a few. Rohit, Rahul, Virat, Pant, Hardik, Dhoni, Jadeja, Bhuvi, Shami, Kuldeep*, Bumrah,” wrote Manjrekar.

Meanwhile, Jadeja has conceded 40 runs in his quota of 10 overs at the Headingley. In the earlier fixtures, he has made an entry on the field as a substitute which also saw him pouching a blinder of dangerous, Jason Roy at Edgbaston in Birmingham on June 30.
