Once again, the past record of Mohammed Shami in the police accounts played a villain role to him in granting the visa by the US Embassy. As the case is yet to be solved, the fast bowler of India, Mohammed Shami, who is in fine form, has got Visa issues from the official US Embassy.
However, Shami got the clearance after BCCI CEO Rahul Johri wrote a letter to the US Embassy. He stated his achievements for the country and furnishing the full police report about his marital discord with estranged wife Hasin Jahan.
It is learnt that the Indian players got their visas under the P1 category. It means that was granted to members of an internationally recognised foreign team of athletes.

Rahul Johri sorted things for Mohammed Shami:
In early 2018, Shami and his estranged wife Jahan separated after the latter accused her husband of adultery and domestic violence. Jahan filed an FIR against Shami in Kolkata. Their divorce case is currently sub-judice.
”Yes, Shami’s visa application was initially rejected by the US embassy. It was found that his police verification record was incomplete. However now it has been sorted. And also, all the required documents have been furnished,” a BCCI source privy to the developments told PTI on condition of anonymity.

”Once the visa application got rejected, CEO Rahul Johri wrote a letter of request. He cited Shami’s achievements including participation in multiple World Cups. Also, the documents were furnished,” he added.
The Indian cricket team takes off from Mumbai for the US on July 29th. They will be playing two T20’s against West Indies in Lauderhill, Florida before proceeding with the rest of the West Indies tour.
Mohammed Shami has had a troubled time in the past few years. His marriage fell apart with wife Hasin Jahan. And then, the news of domestic violence broke out. Since then, the pacer was struggling to get his rights in legal investments.
