The broadcasting giant, Sony Pictures Sports Network (SPSN), had announced the panelists for the much-awaited India vs Windies 2019 series. In a bid to expand their engagement with programmes, the SPSN had opted for a brand new initiative in the cricket-crazy nation.
Meanwhile, the bilateral series is comprised of three T20Is, as many ODIs and two-match Test series. The series will run between August 3 and September 3 respectively.
Recently, India had made it to the semis where they lost to Kiwis by 18 runs. On the other hand, Windies managed just two wins against Pakistan and Afghanistan respectively at the ODI World Cup.
Also, India’s Caribbean tour will begin their ICC World Test Championship campaign when both teams play the first Test on August 22 at Antigua.
Meanwhile, the SPSN is ready to feature celebrated panellist for the Extraaa Innings show.
For the game analyses in English, Sir Vivian Richards will grace the occasion alongside legendary Sunil Gavaskar.
Also, the expert panel will include Ian Bishop, Darren Ganga, Graeme Swann and Murali Kartik.
Besides, the renowned experts in Hindi include Vivek Razdan, Ajay Jadeja, Ashish Nehra, Mohammad Kaif and Gaurav Kapur.
Viv Richards to relish memories as an expert:
“India-West Indies series have always seen explosive action and I don’t expect anything less this time around. With the current form of the West Indies team, I look forward to them giving a tough competition to the Indian side. Sitting next to Sunil Gavaskar in the studio of SPSN will also be like reliving the memories of my playing days against him in my country,” Richards said in a SPSN release.
Also, the SPSN will host air the ‘Cricket Talk’ which is subsequently based on the pre-game discussion for the Test fold apart from the limited-overs cricket.
“West Indies will always hold a very special place in my heart…. Since I started my career over there and have immense respect for their players. Sir Vivian Richards and I have played against each other several times. But at the Sony Pictures Sports Network studios, we will share a partnership for the India tour of West Indies 2019,” Gavaskar said.
The first two T20Is are scheduled in Florida, USA. Consequently, Sony Ten 1 channels will telecast the game in English, whereas Sony Ten 3 will air Hindi commentary.
