The former Indian cricketer Sandeep Patil has lost its chance to become the president of Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). He has currently signed the contract with Star Sports for Marathi commentary. To take the post of MCA President, he has to drop the contract of commentary.

Sandeep Patil went to the MCA Election Commissioner DN Chaudhari to clarify on the issue. He went with MCA CEO CS Naik and former MCA president Ravi Savant. Chaudhari has clarified that the 62-year-old has to leave the contract with Star Sports if he contests for the president post.

“I will be conflicted (if I become MCA president). I just clarified with DN Chaudhari, the electoral officer. Ravi Savant, CEO CS Naik and I met the officer. We also spoke to Rahul Johri, the BCCI CEO. It was finally concluded that I won’t be qualified to contest,” Patil told to Mumbai Mirror.

It’s my right to earn: Sandeep Patil

Sandeep Patil expressed that he can not give up the contract because that job is bread and butter for him. This is not the first time that there is a conflict of interest issue. Earlier, also many cricketers have backed due to related reasons.

His name will be finalised after group member will consult their leader, Sharad Pawar. Neil savant will stand from the Managing Committee for the president’s post.
