Karnataka skipper Manish Pandey scored a fine century while playing against Chattishgarh in the ongoing Vijay Hazare trophy 2019-20. The right-hander was able to hit the ground running for his team as he came out all guns blazing. The Karnataka captain scored five fours and seven sixes in his blistering knock. The right-hander scored a fine knock of 142 runs from only 118 balls.

Karnataka has set up a par score of 285 runs after Chattisgarh skipper Jiwanjot Singh won the toss and decided to bowl first. The hosts’ didn’t have a great start as their opener Devdutt Paddikal was dismissed cheaply for eight runs. However, KL Rahul continued his good form as the stylish batsman scored a fine knock of 81 runs. The flamboyant right-hander took 103 balls to score his runs and scored six fours and one six in his innings.

On the other hand, Puneet Datey and Shashank Singh scalped two wickets for Chattisgarh. Pankaj Rao and Sumit Ruikar took one wicket each for the visitors.
The Karnataka opener, KL Rahul had scored a brilliant knock of 131 runs while playing against Kerala last week. Thus, the right-hander has got back into form. However, it is a bit late for Rahul to regain his form as he was dropped from the national side squad in the ongoing Test series against South Africa. Consequently, Rohit Sharma got a chance to open the innings with Mayank Agarwal.

Rohit Sharma was also able to make the most of his opportunity as he has scored a fine fifty in the first innings against South Africa.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul would like to continue his good form going to get back into the Indian team. Rahul had received a plethora of chances but he was not able to make the most of it. Thus, he was left out of the Test squad against South Africa.
