The legend of Indian Cricket, Kapil dev, who has given India its first World Cup, reveals some of his experience when he was handed over the captaincy of the team. Nobody can forget the moment when India held that trophy.

Kapil dev was the best captain, best bowler and the best allrounder of his time. In the chat with ANI, he said that he was nervous when he was handed over the captaincy. Kapil was just 23 years old when the board decided to give him a big responsibility. No doubt he has amazingly justified that position.

Kapil Dev was scared as well as happy when he received the captaincy for the first time

Kapil said that when the skipper duty was announced he was scared and happy at both times. The thing which scared him that he was going to lead the players whom he admired.

“Sometimes you get some things before time and later you realise. I was 23 years old when they made me the captain. I was scared as well as happy because I was thinking how will I handle these senior players. But I was happy because the selector felt that I was capable enough to be a captain,” Kapil Dev said in his speech at an event here.

I was feeling a bit weird that I became the captain and my heroes were playing with me and under me. So, that was a very difficult time … I only thought one thing that on the field I was the captain but off the field, they all are my captain. The movie is not about me. The movie is about how we won the 1983 World Cup. Yes, I am lucky that an actor like Ranveer Singh, who has so much ability, is playing my role,” said Kap.

We will also be able to see Kapil Dev as well as whole Indian team emotions during World Cup 1983 in the upcoming movie where Ranveer Singh will be seen playing the captain’s role.
