The air quality of Delhi has been proclaimed as “severe” quality. It has become a topic of concern for cricketers as Bangladesh and India is scheduled with first T20I match in Delhi on Sunday (3rd November). Ravichandran Ashwin also showed his concern about the atmosphere through Twitter.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is being criticised for scheduling the match after knowing the air quality of Delhi. BCCI’s president Sourav Ganguly has claimed that it is not possible to change the venue in a short period of time.

“The quality of air in Delhi is really scary, the oxygen we breathe is the basic requisite for mankind on this planet. This indeed is emergency,” he tweeted on Saturday morning.

The air quaily in some places of Delhi has been marked as an emergency category and has forced the government to close the school till November 5. Arun Jaitely Stadium, where India and Bangladesh will play their first T20I match on this Sunday (2nd November), is surrounded by the blanket of smog.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh team, which is touring India, is missing with the experienced players. Tamim Iqbal is not touring India because of personal reason while Shakib Al Hasan has been banned by ICC because of not reporting a corrupt approach to ACU.

Bangladesh has not won a T20I match against India yet. It will be interesting to see whether this time the visitors will beat India in the T20I match without their experienced players.
