Senior batsman SuryaKumar Yadav will be leading Mumbai in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The right-handed batsman was appointed as vice-captain in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and has been elevated to the top position.
The side includes senior batsman and former captain, Aditya Tare, Siddhesh Lad and Sarfaraz Khan, who made his comeback to Mumbai before the start of the season.

Prithvi Shaw has not been named in the squad. He was expected to make his comeback as his ban ends on November 15. Shaw might make his comeback if Mumbai make it to the second round of the tournament, which starts on November 21.
Surprisingly, the selectors also didn’t name Yashasvi Jaiswal in the squad, who top-scored for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy with 564 runs in six matches. He also played for India B in Deodhar Trophy.
Dhawa Kulkarni will lead the pace attack. There is no Shardul Thakur in the squad as he is a part of the Indian team for the Bangladesh T20I series but he will be back once the series ends as he isn’t a part of the Test squad.
Mumbai will kick off their campaign against Mizoram on November 8. They will next face Haryana (November 9), Madhya Pradesh (November 11), Puducherry (November 12), Bengal (November 14), Meghalaya (November 15) and Assam (November 17). They will play all their matches in Mumbai.
Squad: Suryakumar Yadav (Captain), Jay Bista, Aditya Tare, Sarfaraz Khan, Jaideep Pardeshi, Siddhesh Lad, Shubham Ranjane, Shams Mulani, Parikshit Valsangkar, Raunaq Sharma, Dhaval Kulkarni, Kruthik Hangewadi, Deepak Shetty, Aquib Qureshi, Dhrumil Matkar.
Bengal drop Ashok Dinda –

In a surprising move, Bengal dropped their most experienced pacer Ashok Dinda from the squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. With 10 wickets in six matches in Vijay Hazare Trophy, Dinda performed well in the tournament but was dropped from the T20 side. It remains to see if the selectors recall the senior pacer for the Ranji Trophy.
