When Chennai Super Kings’ team management sat on the auction table to pick the team for their comeback season in 2018, ‘experience’ was the sole focus of the franchise. They purchased many cricketers with over the age of 30 and CSK were, rightly so, called the Dad’s Army. In the past two seasons, CSK have done wonders in the league.

They won the tournament for the third time in 2018 while missed the title triumph by a whisker in 2019, losing the final by one run. Since franchises offer a three-year contract to their players, CSK can hold their senior for one more year – though franchises can also release a player ahead of auction – and CSK knew that the ‘senior’ players will definitely play till IPL 2020 before bidding.

The franchise will have a tough task to replace these senior players as many of them are expected to retire after the next season of the league. Today, we have a look at three CSK players who will retire after IPL 2020 –
