Babar Azam, Mickey Arthur

Pakistan cricketer Babar Azam has scored the 2nd century in his Test career against Australia. The player has played 22 Tests since he made debut in 2016. The No.1 T20I and No.3 ODI batsman has earned praise from everyone after his stint against Australia in the first Test.

Mickey Arthur, the former head coach of Pakistan team, opines that Babar Azam wants to be best in the cricket world, as quoted by Pakistan journalist Saj Sadiq. Mickey Arthur lost his place after he was not able to give the World Cup trophy to Pakistan team. Likes of Misbah-ul-Haq were more in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) which finally gave the position to the former Pakistan cricketer.

The former head coach also said that the 25-year-old is like his adopted son. He has expressed that he is very familiar with Azam’s family and he has a special bond with him.

Before the ongoing Test series, Babar Azam led the T20I side

Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was dropped from the team before the Australia tour which gave the chance to Babar Azam to lead the team in the shortest format. The youngster is best in the shortest format.

He has played 36 T20Is at an average of 50. 17 with the striking rate of 127.49. Babar Azam is admired for his batting style. Former Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting earlier said that the best is still to come from Babar Azam.

Pakistan team is currently touring Australia. The visitors had to face the defeat in three-match T20I series. Currently, the two teams are playing the two-match Test series. Australia has won the first Test match by an innings and 5 runs. The two teams will head to play the second Test match, which will be played under light, at Adelaide.
