Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has pulled out his name from the forthcoming IPL 2020 auction. Rahim has never played in the Indian Premier League but it was expected that he would make his debut in the upcoming season. The right-hander was in fine form and there was no doubt that he could have attracted huge bids.
Rahim had played an unbeaten knock of 60 runs in the first T20I against India at Delhi to lead to his team to first-ever T20I win over India. Furthermore, the veteran batsman was the second-highest run-getter in the two-match Test series as he scored 181 runs in four innings he played. However, his efforts went in vain as Tigers lost both the T20I and Test series.

Rahim was in fine form.
Meanwhile, Rahim could have been a good option for teams who were looking to rope in a wicket-keeper batsman. However, the right-hander has decided to pull out his name.
Consequently, only six Bangladesh players will be available in the upcoming IPL auctions, which will take place in Kolkata on the 19th of December. Mahmudullah, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mustafizur Rahman, Soumya Sarkar, Tamim Iqbal, and Taskin Ahmed have confirmed their availability for the auctions.

Mustafirzur Rahman has represented Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians in the past. The southpaw seamer has scalped 24 wickets in the 24 IPL matches. Meanwhile, the remaining five players have never plied on their trade in the cash-rich league.
On the other hand, 971 players have put their hats in the ring to go under the hammer. However, there are only 73 vacant spots available to be grabbed.
Hence, it would be interesting to note what strategies will the eight teams adopt in the auction. The remaining purse and the current form will be taken into consideration when the eight teams will bid for the players in the auctions.
