The strategy of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2020 auction was baffling at Kolkata. The Royals bought eight players in the auction among which six were overseas players. The skipper Virat Kohli is satisfied with RCB’s present squad and believes that they have made the right choices in the auction.
Eight Players bought by RCB
RCB’s appreciable decision was to scalp the Australian batsman Aaron Finch, spending INR 4.40 crore to take his service. The franchise splashed INR 10 crore in buying Chris Morris, the highest purchase by Royals. Franchise also bought Dale Steyn whom they have released ahead of the auction. Shahbaz Ahmed and Pavan Deshpande are the two uncapped cricketers shelled up by RCB. Kane Richardson, Isuru Udana, and Josh Philippe are the other three overseas players.
Virat Kohli speaks on purchases
Virat Kohli is happy with the purchase of the players in the auction while he hopes that RCB will play fearless cricket. He said that they entered with a plan which they successfully achieved in the auction.
“We are pretty happy how the auction went for us. We went up with a plan in mind and wanting to fill up the slots that were not quite strong or were vacant for the past two years. I think we have been pretty spot on with what we wanted. A lot of people might not be able to see the reason behind what we did but that’s fine because we have our plan in place and we have our own vision where we want to head as the team so I’m excited, happy and all the players are excited.”

“some new faces are rearing to go and wanted to do the job for RCB. Looking forward to the great season, playing fearless cricket. The kind of squad we have put in place, it will allow us to play freely and enjoy ourselves. Bring back the fun and the brand of cricket that RCB has always played i.e, Play bold and fearless. And need support as always.”
Virat is a happy captain after the IPL Auction and he can’t wait to join the new-look Bold team for #IPL2020.
