Whereas the strategy of the Royals went as planned because they bought the service of Aaron Finch for INR 4.4 crore in the concluded IPL 2020 auction at Kolkata. The Bangalore franchise had a bidding war with the Kolkata Knight Riders to scalp Finch.

RCB bought eight players in the auction
Apart from Aaron Finch, RCB spent hefty money on South Africa all-rounder Chris Morris in that auction. Morris was the most expensive buy for RCB as they spent INR 10 crore after involving in the bidding war between the Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians. Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Philippe (20 Lacs), Australian pacer Kane Richardson (4 crores), Sri Lankan Isuru Udana (50 Lakhs) and South African fast bowler Dale Steyn (2 crores) were the other international buys for this side.
They also bought two domestic players – Pavan Deshpande (20 lakh) and Shahbaz Ahmed (20 lakh). Now, the Royals has 21 members in the squad with 6.40 crore purse money left with them.
Virat Kohli-led RCB, who hasn’t won the title of Indian Premier League, finished last in the last edition. In the upcoming edition, they will enter with some new members of the team. It will be interesting to see how well they perform in the 2020 edition.
